Kirby Smith For Judge in Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico County NC?

Judge Kirby SmithSee Update BELOW in RED: Are you considering a vote for Kirby Smith as a Judge in the Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico County NC District and Family Courts? In this article we will discuss some things that you may want to consider if you are a non-custodial grandmother, step-mom/dad, non-custodial aunt/uncle, non-custodial parent, or friends of a non-custodial family in Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico County NC. As a Judge and Lawyer, Kirby Smith knows that two parents have to come up with $5000-$7000 retainers in custody battles, and that both parents will go bankrupt having battles for 18 years in a family court system that is notorious for pitting two parents against each other. Will Kirby Smith protect this system for NC Lawyers? As a Democrat, Kirby Smith is well aware that child support enforcement is not just a program that provides for children, it is also responsible for major funding of Welfare and Low Income Assistance programs at social services. As a Judge, will he recognize this and rule in a way that the non-custodial FAMILY is alienated from their child(ren) so that more child support and funding for social services can be received? Additionally, Kirby Smith, as a lawyer and Judge, who was appointed by a sitting Democrat Governor, is well aware that radical feminist groups have LONG had their special interest groups pointed in the direction of women having complete control of children after a divorce, but we have to wonder if the Kirby Smith for Judge campaign remembers that step-moms, non-custodial grandmothers and aunts, as well as other females and friends in non-custodial families get equally hurt in the extreme divisive nature of the Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico County NC District and Family Courts.

UPDATE (July 2012):
Regarding this post on Judge Kirby Smith’s website:… do you notice anything absent? Correct, there is NO Fathers Day post. To us this screams out that Judge Kirby Smith has a bias for women, and you can best bet that his rulings when he becomes a permanent Judge will reflect this. If you have a open custody matter, or other family court matter in Carteret, Craven, or Pamlico County, then ask your lawyer to NOT bring your matter before Kirby Smith. We are also asking FEMALES in paternal families to speak out about Judge Smith obviously pandering to the female vote, because I assure you for every man he gets in family court there are many women in his family that get the heat too.

We suspect Judge Smith’s kids celebrated Fathers Day with their Father, but he can’t acknowledge other Fathers and theirs families? REALLY? How arrogant!

Judge Kirby Smith and Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico County NC non-custodial family voters. Does he care?

The Kirby Smith for Judge campaign has done a great job of utilizing social media and blogging to reach voters in Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico County NC. Anyone familiar with social media, or who has been on his campaign website, will see that Kirby Smith goes out of his way in asking voters to contact and talk to him. So, we did. NC Fathers has tried to reach Kirby using his Twitter and Facebook account, as well as leaving messages on his website. In the past two months the Kirby Smith for Judge campaign has yet to contact us to discuss the concerns of Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico County NC non-custodial families and voters. Thus, we have serious concerns that as a Judge his mindset is geared towards the continued bolstering and strengthening of custodial mothers, while marginalizing non-custodial families as visitor families 5 days a month, and who are revered by the amount of social services (child support) funding they make available.

Does Judge Kirby Smith have any concerns that since social services derives so much money FROM non-custodial families, and given their 100% immunity, that there is a HUGE door open for abuse on these families?

Judge Kirby Smith is WELL aware that many custodial parents prior to a court order keep kids away from their paternal families who have to secure $5000 retainers to exercise their rights, what happens to low income families who can not secure these funds? And, why aren’t custodial parents being held accountable for this?

Judge Kirby Smith is WELL aware that custodial mothers get extensive state and federal housing assistance, financial assistance, medical assistance, educational assistance, and federal tax credits to make financial ends meet, yet step-mothers, sisters of men, and mothers get to visit their sons in jail when they get into financial assistance. How does this help kids Judge?

Judge Kirby Smith is WELL aware of the “absent father” problem reportedly plaguing the country. Yet, hourly, Judges are only giving non-custodial fathers 4-5 days a month visitation and allowing custodial mothers to move kids hundreds of miles away. Judge Smith, are you sure there isn’t a court ordered fatherlessness problem in Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico County?

Until the end of the year, and assuming that Kirby Smith wins his campaign as a Judge in the Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico County NC Family Courts, we are asking ALL family members and friends of non-custodial families to send us correspondence and let us know how is doing.
