Do you think that Judge Laura Anne Powell is more concerned about her fellow NC Lawyers getting rich, and Welfare and other Low Income Assistance Programs surviving via child support, over McDowell and Rutherford County NC non-custodial fathers, step-mothers, paternal aunts and uncles, and grandmothers having equal access and parenting of their children? NC Fathers stands firm that the NC Family Courts in your community are biased, and driven by what is politically in the best interest of Legislators and Judges. We also understand that there are many lobby groups (like the NC Lawyers Association) who fight Equally Shared Parenting in NC because it makes more sense financially (for them) if two parents are fighting for 18 years. You will likely never hear Judge Laura Anne Powell say that this setup NEVER works in the best interest of children. NC Fathers is sending the message to Judge Powell that McDowell and Rutherford County NC children receive greater financial, emotional, psychological, and other support from having two equal parents and their ENTIRE extended families.

Judge Laura Anne Powell, McDowell and Rutherford County NC Non-Custodial Family Dynamics
NC Fathers believes that Judges in NC, like Judge Powell, are not doing their math and realizing that each time that make an extremely divisive ruling in custody matters, they are being a large group of people that are angry at them. This includes WOMEN in paternal families, and members of families in African American and Hispanic families. Giver the divorce rate and rate at which children are being born to unmarried parents, we believe that non-custodial families and putative families represent close to half of the voting population in NC. If you are concerned that there will never be an avenue for you to have equal parentage and access to your children, let us assure you that when non-custodial families in McDowell and Rutherford County join with other families across NC and unite around this issue, things will change.
Judge Laura Anne Powell may disagree, but when this large numbers of voters come together, Legislators and Judges take notice and it will no longer be politically favorable for them to see you as a ATM machine and visitor family.
