Judge H Thomas Church, Judge Lawrence Dale GrahamNC Fathers would like for Judge H Thomas Church and Judge Lawrence Dale Graham of the Iredell and Alexander County NC District and Family Court to explain to Non-Custodial Fathers, Step-Mothers, Paternal Grandparents, and Paternal Aunts and Uncles why it makes more sense to marginalize us as visitor families 5 days a month, rather than starting with equal parentage and access in custody matters in the Iredell and Alexander County NC Courts? NC Fathers is quite sure that both Judge Church and Judge Graham will give the usual scripted answer that all Family Court matters are decide for the best interest of the kids, and that each case is different. We will discuss that below, but it is important to note that in NC, there is NO PRESUMPTION for who gets custody of children in the courts. Yet, the AOC tells us that 84% of Women get custody. And of the 16% that lose custody, 7% will regain custody within 3 years. Therefore, our question to Judge H Thomas Church and Judge Judge Lawrence Dale Graham is, does this mean that 84%-91% of non-custodial families members in Iredell and Alexander County NC do not have the best interest in mind for their children? NC Fathers is an organization of NC non-custodial families who seek reform in the Iredell and Alexander County NC Courts and Social Services agencies to be less about politics, parental warfare, MONEY, and bias. Thomas Church and Judge Lawrence Dale Graham of the Iredell and Alexander County NC courts saying that since each case is different, it’s best to START OUT by alienating 85% of the paternal side of the family, instead of 50/50 and adjust for those parents that don’t get it? If so, my I suggest that non-custodial families research which political affiliation each of the Judges belong to, and remember them at the next election.

NC Fathers has NO DOUBT that Iredell and Alexander County NC Non-Custodial families understand the enormous bias and complexities that revolve around the District and Family Courts. But sometimes we wonder if Judges and Legislators really understand it. Therefore, we are asking Judge H. It is important to point out that besides the National and NC State Bar working hard to not allow you to have equally shared parenting because it would effect NC Lawyers from getting rich via multiple retainers every few years, it is important to follow the links to the Social Security Act which is replenishing Welfare and Low Income Assistance programs on the back of the non-custodial family/child relationship

Exactly how does Judge H. Thomas Church, Judge Lawrence Dale Graham, and the Iredell and Alexander District and Family Courts in NC justify “best interest” regarding these matters?

  • When custodial parents get into financial hardship, they get educational assistance, financial assistance, medical assistance, food assistance, and tax credits. When non-custodial parents get into financial trouble, they go to jail, lose their drivers licences, and professional licenses. Exactly how does it help children to visit their fathers in jail because of a debt Judge Church and Judge Graham?
  • Judge H. Thomas Church and Judge Lawrence Dale Graham both know that custodial parents get FREE child support enforcement attorneys EVERY time they want to file a motion, while non-custodial families have to hire private attorneys at $5000 per MOTION. Clearly, not many families can endure this and are forced into bankruptcy or forced to not pursue a relationship with their children. How will Judge Church and Judge Graham justify best interest in having one side of his/her family destitute and forced to give up all legal proceedings to have a relationship with said child?
  • Judge Church and Judge Graham know very well that hopeful custodial mothers file false domestic violence allegations as a tactical advantage in the family courts, and that Judges allow them to proceed to conviction to look tough on Domestic Violence and keep this lobby happy at election time. How exactly is this in the best interest of kids Judges?
  • Judge H. Thomas Church and Judge Lawrence Dale Graham no doubt has heard of the “absent father” problem in North Carolina, and blame fathers for this. Yet, daily in court, for fathers that do want equal access, they are given only 4 days a month visitation and all too often allow custodial mothers to move kids hundreds of miles away. This is assuming that the father can even afford $15,000 per custody battle. Surely both Judges recognize that they are the single biggest factor in absent fathers?

NC Fathers is asking that Iredell and Alexander County NC non-custodial voting fathers, paternal grandmothers, paternal aunts and uncles, step-mothers, and close friends of these families to recognize what is going on in the District Courts regarding child support/child custody. It’s time to GET ANGRY folks, and do something about it!
