Representative Shirley Randleman – Republican in Wilkes County NC

Representative Shirley RandlemanRepresentative Shirley Randleman is a Republican in Wilkes County NC who represents a LOT of non-custodial fathers, step-mothers, paternal grandparents, and paternal aunts and uncles. In addition, Representative Randleman sits on the NC House Judiciary Subcommittee A and therefore would be assigned with bring equally shared parenting to North Carolina. Hopefully, Representative Randleman’s legislative aids has advised her that Wilkes County NC non-custodial families represent a massive group of voters in her district, that we come from all ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic backgrounds, and political affiliations. In addition, Representative Shirley Randleman should be aware that WOMEN are a huge part of non-custodial families, be it a paternal grandmother, step-mother, or paternal aunt. But here is what we do not think that the distinguished Wilkes County NC Representative understand; that these families are sick and tired of the biased family courts that reduces us to marginalized visitor families 5 days a month, and that our worth seems to be tied to how much child support we pay each month. NC Fathers wants to make it very clear, we believe that non-custodial families matter, and our worth should be valued when we have equal parentage and access to our children instead of how much we pay to a big government agency.

NC County Representative

Republican Representative Shirley Randleman and ANGRY Wilkes County NC Voting Non-Custodial Families

Having read the data above, how angry are you that you do not have the ability to get equal parentage and access to your children, and that your child support efforts are tied to funding other people who use that money to help them raise their children? Are you angry enough to tell Representative Shirley Randleman that you do not seem to have a path to equal parentage because NC laws are setup so that there has to be a custodial parent and a non-custodial parent that has visitation? Why exactly are you forced to visit your child anyway?

Are you angry enough to tell Representative Shirley Randleman that you are ANGRY knowing that in order to have a meaningful relationship with your child, you must be able to afford $5000 retainers every few months with Lawyers that are promising the world, but delivering nothing? Is Representative Randleman aware that custodial parents receive free child support lawyers, while we have to go bankrupt hiring private attorneys?

NC Fathers wants to hear from the distinguished Representative in Wilkes County NC why custodial parents receive social services financial, educational, housing, medical, and other assistance when they get into financial trouble, but non-custodial parents go to jail when they get into financial trouble? Are you tired of visiting your son, husband, father, or brother in jail when he has financial problems?

No doubt Representative Randleman has heard of the “absent father” problem in the United States and one would think that NC Legislators would want to do something about it here in NC. Yet, daily, Judges are allowing custodial parents to move kids hundreds of miles away from non-custodial families, and only allowing us 4-5 days a month with our children. Is the distinguished Representative SURE that Judges and Politicians are not creating absent fathers? Are a lot of fathers simply giving up because they know that they will just lose in court anyway, and spend a fortune doing it?

Will Republican Representative Shirley Randleman of Wilkes County explain why in a state with NO PRESUMPTION for who gets custody, 85% of women get custody? That seems like a big number, is she sure there is no presumption?

Representative Shirley Randleman and Wilkes County NC Voters

As stated earlier, given the divorce rate in NC and Wilkes County, the rate at which parents are having children outside of wedlock, and the rate at which Judges in the Family Courts are dismissing non-custodial families in African-American, Caucasian, Hispanic, and other Ethnic Backgrounds, there is an enormous group of people who are growing angry. There are a lot of WOMEN in paternal families who are upset that they rarely get to see their step-kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews while maternal families enjoy raising the kids. If you are sick and tired of the bias, discrimination, and diversity that should have been dealt with and learned from during the civil rights era, then we cannot emphasize enough the ONLY path to changing your situation is by uniting around these issues, and starting to effect elections and careers by those that have dismissed us for going on five decades.
