Police Chief Jerry Stillings of Moore OK And Domestic Violence

Police Chief Jerry Stillings of Moore Oklahoma has shown us what is wrong with domestic violence policies within police departments across America. That policy? In domestic violence situations, men are always the culprit, and officers are trained to automatically zero in on any male at the scene of a domestic violence call. Of course, much of this training is funded by the federal Violence Against Women Act enacted by feminist who only want domestic violence to be perpetrated by men while suppressing female on male and female on female violence so that feminist can use it for political purposes and drive funding to their organizations. Chief Jerry Stillings has also show that he has done considerable research on the Duluth model which has indoctrinated law enforcement, with the promise of feminist money, that only men are violent and must lead to mandatory arrests when they are called to any domestic situation. Unfortunately for the chief, this training has now turned on him and five of his officers.

In February of 2014, Moore Oklahoma police responded to a domestic situation in which the wife of Luis Rodriguez and her daughter got into a minor altercation where she ended up disciplining her child while the family was on a outing. Apparently 911 was called, police arrived, and like clock work, they immediately focused on Luis Rodriguez as the culprit without doing an investigation and attempted to arrest him leading to Luis dying at the scene.

According to other media outlets, all officers in this situation are on paid leave and Chief Stillings has stated that after reviewing video of the arrest of Luis Rodriguez his officers acted appropriately in detaining him. According to a lawyer hired by the wife, Mr. Rodriguez was pepper sprayed in the eyes and mouth, then forced to the ground where 5 Moore Oklahoma officers attempted to handcuff him and he died.

Here is what likely happened to Luis Rodriguez even though this article is more about why police decided to forgo a scene investigation during a domestic dispute. It is likely that Luis was attempting to talk to officers on the scene who were only there to arrest him, he resisted, was pepper sprayed in the mouth and nose causing a constriction of his respiratory system and when 5 police officers sat on him while restraining him, he lost all ability to breath and died. Of course many reading this will point out that you never resists officers even if you are innocent and that is certainly debatable.

In addition, many reading this article, including Chief Jerry Stillings will say that we need a strong police response to domestic violence given that it is such a pervasive problem in this country and we agree. However, as newer studies are showing, women are just as likely to commit domestic violence as men despite what police officers have been trained to believe. Chief Stillings will likely also say that it is appropriate to always focus on a male at the scene of any domestic situation because men are usually the culprit. And while this may seem reasonable, it is akin to saying it is reasonable that we overlook 5 dead children because it wasn’t 9, or that it’s OK if women kill because more men do it.

Chief Stillings will also say that this incident is a rare event and that his officers respond to domestic situations routinely without incident.

But we have to wonder how many Moore Oklahoma men are in jail because officers just decided to arrest the male when called to any situation, and we have to now wonder how many victims of domestic violence are in jail because Moore OK police are trained and given federal money to only see men as domestic offenders? Statistics don’t back that up? Well I guess not, how are we going to have statistics showing that there is a female perpetuated domestic violence problem if the male is always arrested and jailed?

A commenter to this article suggested that domestic violence by women is a one to three time as year thing and defended this police chief and his officers in looking at Mr. Rodriguez only.
